The Selam Higher Clinic opened its doors to Harar in December, 2008. It is one of the newest clinics and was established with a unique mission statement in mind. More than having state of the art equipment, it has an organized and caring staff. The clinic's goal is to serve both the people of Harar with surroundings and beyond boarders.
Currently the clinic primarily treats medical patients, both as outpatient and inpatient. It is equipped to deal with whatever medical problem the patient has, no matter how common or rare. Knowledge is continually updated in many areas. The future of the clinic is Selam Hospital combining multiple specialty units.
Aside from direct patient care, the clinic also provides medical consultations. When other physicians are involved in the patient's care, the clinic coordinates their care for the patients and manages difficult medical problems associated with that care.
Selam means-peace in Amharic – which shows our wish for the good and prosperity of the people we are serving. We are at scratch and our aim is big-Suffices to quote the old Chinese proverb “a mile's journey begins with one stride.” A stride made with vision and winning the helping hands of others.
